Dr. Antonios Chalapas is a certified cardiologist, regular member of: European Society of Cardiology, European Society of Interventional Cardiology and European Council of Valvular Heart Disease. He was graduated from the Medical School of Ioannina in Greece.

He is a certified interventional Cardiologist member of the Local and European Society of Interventional Cardiology with a more than a 10 year experience in the field of Coronary Artery Disease and Structural Heart Diseases – Valvular Heart Disease (Valvulopathies).

He was a former As. Director in the Department of Valvular Heart Disease in Hygeia Hospital of Athens (THV Program), Greece and now is scientific responsible in Athens Medical Center. He is a member of the local and European: Society of Interventional Cardiology and Council of Valvular Heart Disease and he is experienced in many transcutaneous interventions and procedures (TAVI, M-ΤΕΕR, PVL and PCI) fully trained in Academic Center of Germany (Trier).

Moreover, he has a rich clinical, scientific, research and academic work having the title of Doctor of Philosophy from the Medical School University of Athens.

He is a post-Doctoral Cardiovascular Fellow of Emory University in Atlanta, USA, a certified Clinical Research Coordinator and Faculty member of international meetings and congresses, having many peer reviewed publications and presentations.

Finally, he was scientific responsible and member of the organizing committee of the 1st workshop of Interventional Cardiology for medical students and cardiology fellows done in Greece under the authority of Hellenic Society of Cardiology (2014).
